Raynham Police Department Warn of Loose Bull Roaming the Area
Update: After escaping the farm, the bull ran through fences, onto I-495 where it caused a multi-vehicle crash, into the woods and into a lake before charging at officers on shore. Police disabled the bull with a gun and the owner euthanized the animal. See the full updated story.
A large bull is currently on the loose in the area of Elm Street East and Route 495, prompting an urgent advisory from the Raynham Police Department. The incident was reported around 10:50 AM on Monday, August 12th, with authorities swiftly mobilizing to ensure the safety of residents and assist in the capture of the runaway animal.
In a statement issued by the Raynham Police Department, they advised, “Please avoid the area if possible as Massachusetts State Police, Raynham Police Department, and other groups will be attempting to assist the owner with capturing it.”
Residents in the vicinity are urged to exercise caution and steer clear of the area while efforts to safely contain the bull are underway. Local law enforcement, in collaboration the Massachusetts State Police, is working diligently to return the animal to it's rightful owner once they figure out where the bull escaped from.
Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available, but for now, the public is asked to remain vigilant and follow the guidance of local authorities.
