Quincy Man Collapses in Pharmacy after Stabbing in New Bedford

NEW BEDFORD - New Bedford Police are investigating a report of a stabbing Thursday night in the 100-block of Belleville Road at about 7:40 p.m.

Police responded to the area after reports that a man was stabbed while fighting with another male. The victim, a 42-year-old Quincy man, then fled to the Walgreen's Pharmacy at 1737 Acushnet Ave., where he collapsed inside the building.

He suffered face and stomach wounds and was transported to Rhode Island Hospital, where he is in stable condition Friday morning.

Police are actively investigating the incident.
