As great as it is to order things off the Internet, there's always a risk of disappointment when you open the package and find it's not necessarily what was advertised.

Providence Place Mall has a hidden gem of a store where you can get around that uncertainty. Showcase is a must-visit.

I can't be the only person who scrolls through Tiktok and Instagram and see all the ads for products that have gone viral. About half the time I buy something I didn't know I needed.

Let's face it, though, buying stuff this way can be tricky. Luckily, Canada-based Showcase has made its way to the United States. It's for spotlighting the new generation of the "As Seen On TV" products.

The store thrives off allowing customers to try before they buy, in a way. Let's face it. We see a ton of products on TikTok or other social media that we want but won't buy because we want to try them first.

I've definitely hit the purchase button on my Instagram and TikTok feeds a few times and spent money I shouldn't have. Stepping into this store may be a good idea if you are struggling with what to get a few people on your list but don't want to take a huge leap of faith that something quality will show up -- whether you're looking for massage guns, freeze-dried candy, headphones, Squishmallow stuffed animals or dozens and dozens of other unrelated items.
