Police Find Loaded Gun in New Bedford Parking Lot
NEW BEDFORD — New Bedford Police have found a gun in a parking lot just outside of downtown.
Police say members of the Gang Unit found the 9mm semi-automatic handgun in a parking lot at Bedford and Purchase Street at 10:35 a.m. on Sunday. The gun was loaded.
New Bedford Police Department spokesman Lt. Nathaniel Rodriguez says the gun has not been reported stolen.
The firearm will undergo ballistics testing at the State Police Crime Laboratory in Lakeville to determine if it has been used in any crimes.
