Erratic Plymouth Swan Rescued By Massachusetts State Trooper
There's nothing better than kicking off a new month with a positive story that has a happy ending, and that's just how things turned out for this Plymouth swan.
The rogue swan was wandering about Route 3 in a state that the Massachusetts State Police described as "being erratic." Now, swans are normally known for being defensive and throwing literal hissy fits, so this trooper was brave just to approach the big bird.
State Trooper Anthony Pereira was on patrol when he got the call regarding the swan and he headed to the scene.
The swan easily could have been hit by a vehicle on the busy highway, but Trooper Pereira had other plans for it. He wrapped up the swan in a blanket, took the swan in and called over to Plymouth Animal Control. Thankfully, the swan was not hurt and after Animal Control determined that it was healthy, it was released back into the wild at a safe location.
From their regular detail to wild animals, the Massachusetts State Police are ready for anything thrown their way – even if it means wrangling a disgruntled swan who either lost its way or was just brave enough to play in traffic. Either way, it's a happy ending across the board and I'm here for it.
