The owner of New Bedford's Pub 6T5 is addressing rumors that the popular restaurant is up for sale.

The rumors have been circulating for the past month since owner Jessica Moore closed the doors of her Mattapoisett restaurant, Rustico. The building has since been placed up for sale.

However, any rumors of the Pub 6T5 restaurant also being placed up for sale are inaccurate, Moore said. The confusion is stemming from the fact that the building that houses the restaurant is, in fact, up for sale. However, the business itself is not.

"With regards to the property, my father is the primary owner of the building while I am the owner of the business," Moore wrote on Pub 6T5's Facebook page.

"They are very clearly 2 separate legal entities. My parents are embarking on an amazing chapter in their lives where they are building a house on a beautiful piece of property in Oregon," she wrote. "As they move forward they have decided to list for sale both of their New Bedford properties, the building that houses Pub 6T5 and a 3 bedroom home down the street. I am excited to watch my parents enjoy their retirement."

Moore said one of the big reasons she decided to close Rustico in Mattapoisett was because she felt torn between the two businesses and wanted to pour everything she could into Pub 6T5.

"In the 2 1/2 years since (buying Rustico) I have felt myself split in too many directions and unable to give both businesses the attention they deserve," she wrote. "That is why I chose to bring my full focus back to Pub 6T5 and I am so excited for what 2025 is going to bring to us!"
