New Bedford Youth DJ Master Class Enrolling Now
Now that Gazelle is a married man, he has decided to cut back significantly on his DJ work. While he's still doing weddings, Gazelle decided to cut out the bars and nightclubs. He didn't love staying out so late, part of the decision was out of respect to his wife.
"It's funny though," said Gazelle. "A lot of bar and nightclub owners are scrambling as more and more DJ's my age have decided to hang up the headphones. There's no next generation of DJ's ready to step up and get in the game."
Enter The Legendary Broadway. He's got decades of DJ experience under his belt, but most recently Broadway was the DJ for the Lil Nas X tour. He's recently moved to New Bedford and has decided to offer a master class at Play Arcade to teach youth how to DJ.
"The program is for junior high and high school kids. It'll cover things like how to discover your DJ identity, how to run the equipment, and progress you on how to mix in front of a crowd," said Broadway.
I can tell you first hand, I could only have dreamed of such an opportunity when I was in high school. I had my radio internship, but to get the chance to learn how to DJ from a master would have meant the world to me.
If you know a young person who has a passion for music, this might be the perfect activity for them. The cost of the course is $250, and the class is enrolling now.
