New Bedford Woman Says Vandals Broke Her Car Mirror, Shot Trunk with BB Gun

NEW BEDFORD — New Bedford Police are investigating a report of a woman whose vehicle was damaged by vandals, who shot her vehicle with a BB gun.

Police responded to a report that a 26-year-old woman was driving in the area of Brook Street and Davis Street at about 6 p.m. Monday, when a vehicle that she did not recognize began to follow her.

She said the driver showed what she thought was a BB gun out the window. In the area of Brook Street and Belleville Road, a passenger in the suspect vehicle got out and ran over to her vehicle and tore off her side mirror. She said the rear of her vehicle also sustained damage consistent with BB gun shots.

The woman fled the scene and was not injured, she told police.

Police say the incident is under investigation.
