Trucchi’s Supermarkets reported that four locations in the grocery chain were found to have credit card skimmers in checkout lanes in four different communities this past week, including New Bedford and Taunton.

In a press release, Trucchi’s said the skimmers were also detected in stores in Abington and West Bridgewater.

A credit card skimmer is a device “illegally installed on or inside ATMs, point-of-sale (POS) terminals, or fuel pumps to capture card data and record cardholders’ PIN entries,” according to the FBI.
