New Bedford Free Public Library has a lot going on virtually for every kid. From storytime to trivia to even virtual puppet shows, there is something for all interests.

Just stepping back into my childhood, I remember so many wonderful things that entertained me growing up. Now in the age of Zoom and the internet, we are having to get creative.

I can recall going to the New Bedford Free Public Library; I lived near Brooklawn Park so that's the one I would visit frequently. There would always be a storytime and even a puppet show or two that I could take part in. Little did I know it was free babysitting for my parents.

Well, parents your in luck. The New Bedford Free Public Library has lots going on right now.

That includes weekly trivia with prizes for correct answers, puppet storytimes through Zoom, and more; you just have to register first to get the link. My favorite are the storytimes they post on their Facebook page. Since going to the actual library to see storytime in real life is not the safest right now, this virtual way allows our children to still take part.

I may or may not have spent an hour checking out all the content they are posting online for us.

We should always remember just how important of resource libraries are to the community and how they continue to provide free services for patrons such as these.
