New Bedford Police Investigate Shots Fired Report Near School

NEW BEDFORD — New Bedford Police are investigating a report of gunshots near a school outside of the downtown.

Police received a report of shots fired in the area of 247 Elm Street at 2:02 p.m. on Sunday. The reported address is adjacent to the Sgt. William H. Carney Academy.

Responding officers did not find any damage resulting from the suspected gunshots. No injuries were reported.

Police continue to investigate.
