NEW BEDFORD - A Wareham man is arrested in New Bedford after allegedly riding through several yards on a stolen ATV with a juvenile passenger.

New Bedford Police responded to reports Wednesday night after 9 p.m. that an ATV was being driven on Buchanan Street and through several neighborhood yards. When police approached the recreational vehicle, the operator fled on foot. He was soon apprehended. Police found a screwdriver, pliers, and vehicle parts in the suspect's pockets.

The operator, Preston Pedrosa, 24, of Wareham, is charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle, possession of burglary instruments, disturbing the peace, reckless operation of a recreational vehicle, operating a recreational vehicle on a public way and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

A 14-year-old boy was also riding on the ATV. He was not charged.
