NEW BEDFORD — The New Bedford Police narcotics division and gang unit took nearly $200,000 worth of cocaine off the streets Wednesday and made two arrests, after an investigation into a cocaine delivery service out of 262 Nash Road, Apt. 3.

A search warrant was executed at the location and police discovered 1,253 grams of cocaine; a loaded Taurus 357 revolver with five rounds of ammunition and $7,597.

Police arrested Arcadio Navarro, 24, of 262 Nash Rod Apt. 3, New Bedford, on charges of trafficking in cocaine (over 200 grams), conspiracy to violate drug laws, possession of a firearm without a license, unlawful possession of ammunition, felony possession of a firearm and malicious damage to a motor vehicle.

He faces motor vehicle charges for striking two police cruisers in an attempt to evade police who were attempting to stop him prior to the search.

Police also arrested Brooke Carr, 31, of 262 Nash Road, Apt. 3, New Bedford, on charges of trafficking in cocaine (over 200 grams), possession of a firearm without a license, conspiracy to violate drug laws, felony possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.

The arrests were made at about 6:26 p.m.
