New Bedford Police Arrest Two After Finding Suspected Heroin
NEW BEDFORD — Two New Bedford men face charges after they're stopped by members of the New Bedford Police Department's Gang Unit.
Police patrolling the Shawmut Village Housing Complex came across two men in a vehicle on Pawnee Court at around 10 p.m. on Tuesday. While speaking with police, the passenger in the vehicle began behaving suspiciously, prompting police to search the man. During the search, police found suspected heroin in the passenger's possession.
Police arrested the passenger, Hector Nieves, 24, of 173 Coggeshall Street, Apt. 1, New Bedford, and charged him with possession with intent to distribute a Class A drug.
The driver of the vehicle, Napoleon Rodriguez, 19, of 20 Princeton Street, Apt. 2E, New Bedford, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
