NEW BEDFORD (WBSM) — The woman accused of killing a man outside of the Seabra Foods in New Bedford’s South End earlier this month has now been officially charged with murder.

Nina Busnengo, 31, of Mattapoisett and New Bedford was previously charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in the August 20 killing of Stephen Oswald, 58, of New Bedford.

Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III announced Friday that Busnengo has now been charged with murder in a criminal complaint filed August 29 in New Bedford District Court.

Busnengo was ordered held without bail.

New Bedford Police were called to the Seabra Foods at 41 Rockdale Avenue at about 3:40 a.m. on August 20 for a report of an injured male. First responders arrived and found Oswald suffering from an apparent head injury.

He was pronounced deceased by New Bedford EMS medics at 3:56 a.m.
