New Bedford ‘Mission 22′ Pub Crawl [VIDEO]
When two New Bedford Police Officers, Donald Williams and Jared Lucas thought up the idea of Pub Crawl to raise awareness for veteran suicide, neither of them expected the overall outcome.
On Sunday, June 11th, 2017, hundreds of locals came out in support of Mission 22. Just today... 22 U.S. Veterans will commit suicide due to troubled issues.
#Mission 22 is a veteran non-profit organization with one goal: to end the war on veterans taking their own lives, simply because they can no longer deal with everyday life issues that originate from past experiences with war and combat.
The pub crawl began at 1:00 PM at Rose Alley Ale House in the Downtown area of New Bedford, then continued to Slainte, Moby Dick Brewery, Pour Farm Tavern and then finishing at Greasy Luck Tavern around 5:00 PM. The event itself went until 7:00 PM where 100% of the proceeds went directly to Mission 22.
Between each stop, as the crowd left the bar, we gathered as a group and performed 22 pushups. This is was the official finish to each bar. Above is highlights of the pub crawl, pushups included!
