NEW BEDFORD (1420 WBSM) – A man was arrested by New Bedford Police last week for allegedly carrying a firearm without a license.

According to police, Organized Crime Intelligence Bureau detectives received information on Friday, September 30 that Malik King, 27, was in possession of a firearm.

Through surveillance, King was located in the area of Lucas Street, where he was stopped and searched by detectives. Police said King was found to be in possession of a 9mm Keltec P11 loaded with nine rounds of ammunition that was concealed in a bag.

King was placed under arrest by Detective Drew Frenette and charged with carrying a firearm and ammunition without a license.
