Wet Nose Wednesday is here again. Wednesday is my favorite day of the week because I get to talk about animals.

What’s better than that?

While all of the animals highlighted on Wet Nose Wednesday are adorable, the more important mission is finding these animals a home. With the help of shelters on the SouthCoast, Fun 107 highlights one lucky animal each week in hopes of connecting them with the perfect home. This week, we head to Lighthouse Animal Shelter in New Bedford.

Meet Amelia. Amelia is a four-and-a-half-year-old mixed breed. The volunteers at Lighthouse guess that she is a lab/vizsla mix breed.

They may guess on her breed, but there is no question when it comes to Amelia’s personality.

Amelia is an outgoing, goofy girl. She has a high energy level, so she loves to bounce around the play yard chasing tennis balls.

She would thrive with an active forever family who wants to show her new places to run and explore.

When playtime is over, she will spend her time showering you with kisses.

Amelia recently went off to training school. Lighthouse said, “She now knows how to sit, lay down, heel, stay, come, and place. She would love a forever family who will keep up with her obedience training.”

Amelia has a lot of love to give. Does she sound like a good fit for you and your family?

If you are interested in applying for Amelia and potentially meeting her, the first step will be to fill out the Lighthouse adoption or foster application. Contact the Lighthouse Animal Shelter to schedule a play date.
