New Bedford is leveling up its sustainability game, and I'm all for it.

The City of New Bedford’s Recycling Center has officially partnered with ReMix Organics Co., bringing fresh momentum – and bright yellow carts – to the city’s Food Waste Drop-Off Program.

Residents can now bring unpackaged food scraps to the Recycling Center and place them in the new yellow ReMix carts. From there, the scraps are transformed into renewable energy and nutrient-rich soil, rather than ending up in the Crapo Hill landfill. That means less waste in the ground and more clean energy and quality compost going back into the community.
