NEW BEDFORD (WBSM) — The two people killed in a fatal crash on Interstate 195 in New Bedford on Friday have now been identified as a mother and her teenage son.

The single-vehicle crash occurred on I-195 East in New Bedford on September 6 at about 9:35 a.m. The two were among five people traveling in a Lexus SUV that rolled over near Exit 24A.

The two victims were pronounced deceased at the scene, while the other three people were taken to a local hospital.

The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office on Sunday identified the victims as Gladys Ivelisse Colon Kuilan, 35, of New Bedford and her son, Willniel Osorio-Colon, 13, also of New Bedford.

The condition of the other three people involved in the crash was not provided.

The D.A.’s Office said the investigation into the crash remains active and ongoing at this time.
