New Bedford Family Fest 2025 Is Next Saturday
If you are looking for activities for your kids either after school or during the summer, you should attend Family Fest 2025. It will take place on Saturday, May 3 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Andrea McCoy Recreation Center on Hillman Street in New Bedford.
There will be lots of free, fun things for kids and families to take part in, along with representatives of 40 organizations with information on how to get your children involved.
Caroline Conzatti of the Family Fest Committee visited Townsquare Sunday to explain what Family Fest is all about.
"It's an opportunity for all the adults to learn about these various organizations and the resources they offer, and for children to have a good time," Conzatti said. "All 40 of our community partners will offer free activities for kids."
Those activities will include face painting, arts and crafts, an obstacle course, a storyteller, a magician, climbing onboard a fire truck, music and more, and it's all free.
If you are hungry, you can purchase food from several food trucks on hand, plus a lemonade stand.
Conzatti said people who attend Family Fest have a chance to leave with prizes.
"Many of the people stay the whole three hours, and they leave with bags loaded with giveaways," she said. "There will also be a raffle, and we will pull raffle winners all three hours. There will also be a story walk outside in multiple languages, so there really will be a lot to do."

"There are so many organizations in Greater New Bedford that offer youth programming," Conzatti said. "You will probably know some of the organizations at Family Fest, but not all of them, and any of these programs offer financial assistance to families and children who otherwise might not be able to attend. "
Registration is encouraged at paceinfo.org/family-fest.
