New Bedford’s Dough Company Is Closing Its Doors After Four Years
A family-owned café and eatery in New Bedford is saying goodbye.
After four years in New Bedford’s Kilburn Mill, the owners of Dough Company shared the unfortunate news on Tuesday that they would be closing for good.
Dough Company Announces Closure
“It is with much sadness that we announce the closure of our beloved café,” said Jason and Jillian Cotter online. “After four years of serving the New Bedford community and beyond, we have made the difficult decision to close our doors due to a combination of economic challenges and personal reasons.”
The restaurant remains open for business and there is no word yet on a final date.
The Cotters extended their appreciation for their loyal customers and wonderful staff for their continued support over the years.
“Your loyalty has meant the world to us, and we have cherished every moment spent serving you and every memory we have made together,” said the restaurant.
They ended their announcement with optimism, saying, “We hope to see you again soon.”

When Is Dough Company’s Last Day?
Before the Cotters opened Dough Company in 2020, they gained popularity at a New Bedford farmer’s market. In 2019, they started their business out of their kitchen. They evolved their curated menu to bring a new concept to Kilburn Mill— Mouthwatering menu items made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
The Cotters have a passion for great food. Local foodies hope that Dough Company overcomes this tough season and evolves into something new.
No one was answering the phone this morning up until publishing time. We will continue to reach out to get more details on DoCo's last day.
