NEW BEDFORD (WBSM) — New Bedford Police arrested a man registered as a Level 3 sex offender with three convictions for rape and indecent assault on a minor in connection with a stabbing that occurred in the city earlier today.

According to police, patrol units were dispatched to the area of Kempton Street at around 10:30 a.m. for a reported stabbing.

Officers arrived to find a victim suffering from injuries that were not life-threatening. He told police that the stabbing was the result of a dispute between neighbors.
