Love is a powerful and most beautiful thing and there's a local story out of Dartmouth that stands as a true testament.

Recently, a New Bedford couple revisited the place where their journey began, setting the stage for a heartwarming proposal that melted hearts and reaffirmed the beauty of lifelong connections.

It all began over 16 years ago at Kiddie Kampus, a cherished childhood memory for many in Dartmouth. Little did Josibel Gomes and Jordyn Pina know that their paths would intertwine within the colorful walls of their kindergarten classroom. Fast forward to March 13th, a day that marked not only their engagement but also a celebratory return to where it all started.

This special proposal took shape the moment Pina reached out to Kiddie Kampus with a heartwarming request. He wanted to propose to his long time girlfriend in the very place where their story began. The school administration, recognizing the names of their former students, embraced the idea wholeheartedly, eager to be a part of such a special moment.

On Wednesday morning, Gomes found herself stepping into the familiar halls of Kiddie Kampus under the impression that her boyfriend was simply "dropping off paperwork" to enroll his little brother. Little did she know that she was about to embark on a journey down memory lane that would forever change her life.

As they wandered into their old kindergarten classroom, Jordyn seized the moment, surprising Josibel with a well-executed proposal. Overwhelmed with emotion, she said yes, sealing their love in the very place where it blossomed years ago.

For Gomes and Pina, their journey from kindergarten friends to high school sweethearts was marked by shared laughter, cherished memories, and a love that stood the test of time. As they gazed upon old class photos on the walls of their old classroom, the couple couldn't help but marvel at their coincidental reunion, realizing that fate had been guiding them all along.

Reflecting on the proposal, Pina shared the relief he felt in finally asking the woman of his dreams to spend forever by his side. Amidst the nerves and excitement, there was an overwhelming sense of joy, knowing that they were taking the next step in their journey together. For Gomes, the surprise proposal was just as shocking, but overwhelmed with happiness and joy.

As they look ahead to their future, the newly engaged couple plan to buy a house next year, putting the wedding on hold until they're settled down and comfortable.

For Kiddie Kampus Child Development Center, the engagement holds a special significance. As they witnessed the love of two former students, they are reminded of the profound impact they have on shaping young lives and fostering lifelong connections.

As they embark on this new chapter together, may their love continue to grow, inspiring all who encounter their remarkable journey from kindergarten to engagement.
