ORLEANS — A New Bedford couple was placed under arrest over the weekend for several break-ins of motor vehicles that occurred in many towns on Cape Cod in the past few weeks during the overnight hours.

Derek R. DeJesus, 43, of Crapo Street, New Bedford, and Katrina C. Olden, 25, of Brock Avenue, New Bedford, were caught in the act in Wellfleet and placed under arrest ending their crime spree.

The Yarmouth Police Department Detective Division participated in the investigation and arrest which included the use of fingerprints located at a crime scene and a GPS tracking system.

DeJesus—with 93 priors on his record in Massachusetts—is being held on $15,000 cash bail and Olden on $1,000 cash bail.

The Yarmouth Police Department commends the work of all of the Law Enforcement Officials involved in this case, including:
Yarmouth, New Bedford, Harwich, Sandwich, Wellfleet, Eastham, Massachusetts State Police, and the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Unit

Numerous charges are still being compiled by the various agencies involved. There are currently 28 charges against the couple.
