Did somebody scream "murder mystery?"

On Friday, September 12, the Country Club of New Bedford, located at 585 Slocum Road in Dartmouth, will transform into a scene straight out of a 1920s thriller as Coastline Elderly Services hosts its first-of-a-kind Murder Mystery Dinner fundraiser.

Have I piqued your interest? If so, get ready for a night of suspense, laughter, and intrigue, all while helping support thousands of older adults across the SouthCoast.

Dinner, Mystery and Fun

From 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., attendees will enjoy a full evening of dining, live entertainment and a silent auction. A professional theater ensemble will set the stage for a classic interactive murder mystery, keeping everyone guessing until the final reveal.

Make sure to dress the part, because 1920s-themed attire is encouraged.

Whether you arrive in a feathered headband, a flapper dress or a pinstripe fedora, feel free to transport back in time or simply come as comfortable as you like.

Tickets are $100 per person, with all proceeds directly supporting Coastline’s programs. Reservations can be made by visiting Coastline’s event page.

Why It Matters

For more than four decades, Coastline has been a lifeline for seniors in Greater New Bedford and surrounding communities. Each week, the nonprofit provides over 8,000 meals to older adults, many of whom live alone and face health or financial challenges.

To these individuals, Coastline’s services are more than food delivery; it is a source of security and human connection. From nutrition programs to in-home support, Coastline helps ensure that local seniors continue to feel valued and cared for.

How to Get Involved

While the Murder Mystery Dinner is open to the community, Coastline is also welcoming local businesses and individuals to join as sponsors. Contributions help the nonprofit reach its $30,000 fundraising goal, which will go directly toward meals and services for seniors. Even a $50 donation can provide a week of meals for one senior, making every contribution impactful.

A Night to Remember

The Murder Mystery Dinner is more than just an evening of entertainment, it’s a chance to make a difference for the people who once built and shaped our neighborhoods. Help your community by coming out and enjoying the show, and be part of a night where fun and compassion come together.
