Coastline Celebrating 45 Years of Serving New Bedford-Area Seniors [TOWNSQUARE SUNDAY]
Coastline of New Bedford is celebrating an important anniversary this year: 45 years of service to seniors in the Greater New Bedford area.
Coastline offers dozens of programs to help seniors in areas like home health care, housing, financial management, and senior nutrition (Meals on Wheels).
Coastline Home Care Manager Jessica Aylward and Assistant Planning Director Zachary Boyer joined Townsquare Sunday this week to discuss Coastline's programs and plans for an anniversary celebration in October.
"Our mission is helping elders age at home independently," Boyer said. "Our intake and referral team is top-notch and can get you connected with the services that you need."
Aylward is co-manager of the Home Care Department.
"Our job is to provide any type of home care services, whether its grocery shopping, bathing, Meals on Wheels so elders can stay in their home," she said.
Aylward also made note of Coastline's Community Mainstream Program, which assists seniors in navigating their way through the MassHealth system to learn what services are available for them.
You can get a full rundown on the programs provided by visiting Coastline's website.
The 45th anniversary celebration will feature a Harvest Dinner and Fundraiser on October 28 at 6 p.m. at Rachel's Lakesider in Dartmouth. Rep. William Straus (D-Mattapoisett) will be the keynote speaker.
Tickets are $80, and are available either by visiting coastlinenb.org or by calling Coastline at (508) 999-6400.
Boyer said donations are also welcomed, and all the proceeds after expenses will be used to help fund Coastline programs.
