New Bedford North End Carnival Kicks Off Thursday
NEW BEDFORD (WBSM) — The carnival is coming to the near North End of New Bedford this weekend.
Fiesta Shows is putting on a carnival this weekend at 730 Belleville Avenue, in the parking lot between Titleist and Precix.
It will happen Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The forecast calls for sunshine all four days and temperatures between 75-80 degrees, so perfect weather for a carnival.
According to the Fiesta Shows website, there will be more than 15 rides, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Day of Portugal.
The entrance to the carnival will be at the end of the lot closer to the river.
During a visit on Wednesday afternoon, we saw rides such as a Ferris wheel, the Fireball, the Warrior, the Thunderbolt, the Magic Maze, Pharaoh's Fury and more.
“The carnival will open Thursday and Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m. The carnival closes typically between 10 p.m-11 p.m. nightly, with Sunday being slightly earlier,” Fiesta said on its website.
Megapasses and wristbands can be purchased on the Fiesta Shows website, ranging from $30-$40 (or $35-$45 if purchased at the carnival). Individual ride tickets will also be for sale.
The policy on minors that was in effect for the Dartmouth carnival back in May will not be in effect in New Bedford.
There are also a couple of events happening down the road this weekend at the Madeira Feast Grounds, with a performance by Get the Led Out, put on by the Zeiterion Theater, on Friday and the Railroad Park Recording Company’s RPRCFest happening on Saturday.
