New Bedford’s The Baker Got a Sweet Surprise From Hollywood Star Téa Leoni [VIDEO]
Actress Téa Leoni made an unexpected and charming appearance at The Baker, a Downtown New Bedford's beloved bakery.
Her visit as a customer quickly turned into an unforgettable experience for the staff.
"She was just here with another customer, hanging out," manager David Landers said. "When she discovered that the owner was a big fan, we decided to make a little video where she learned to make her favorite treat, cinnamon rolls."
The spontaneous video shoot was a hit, capturing Leoni’s genuine enthusiasm and the bakery’s warm atmosphere.
"So, I just want to make more of those cinnamon buns I was talking about that I love so much," Leoni says in the video, hovering over a table in the kitchen as the employees nod in agreement.

Landers said the star's visit was a surprise.
"We had no idea she was coming," he said. "She was charming and it was a lot of fun to make the video."
Leoni has been a part-time Dartmouth resident for many years. She has proven herself to be a good sport before, showing up to a ceremony when New Bedford Cable Access named a sound booth after her.
Leoni starred in CBS drama Madame Secretary, along with films including Fun With Dick and Jane alongside Jim Carrey, Spanglish with Adam Sandler and Family Man with Nicolas Cage.
She seems to genuinely like The Baker, which serves fresh treats daily on Pleasant Street.
"After the video, she went back to her friend, and we didn’t want to bother her for autographs or pictures," Landers said. "We wanted to respect her privacy."
Leoni's visit will be a sweet memory for The Baker's staff and the community. You never know who you're going to bump into these days as the SouthCoast continues to become the Hollywood hub of the East Coast.
