The New Bedford Science Cafe Kids is hosting a “NASA Space Day: Exploration of Faraway Places” event over April vacation.

Bring your young scientist to learn more about space on Thursday, April 18 from 1 to 3 pm at the New Bedford Whaling Museum. This event is FREE to all ages and open to the public.

Travel to the far reaches of our solar system and beyond with students from the NASA Solar System Explorers at the Ford Middle School in Acushnet. These young scientists and NASA Solar System Ambassador, Joe Cote will be at the Whaling Museum to connect you to several of the exciting projects being conducted by NASA! The Solar System Explorers will have four indoor learning stations and one outdoor learning station. - New Bedford Parks, Recreation, and Beaches

Here are some of the things that you can enjoy at this event:

  • Handle real Moon Rocks
  • Look through a solar spotting scope
  • View images from the TESS Mission to find exoplanets
  • Learn about the current exploration of the surface of Mars
  • Create space crafts
  • Enjoy free cookies
