It may not be a questioned you've ever really asked yourself, but what would you choose to be your 'last meal'?

A new study decided to take that question out of it's usual jailhouse setting and simply ask folks what they would choose if there was just one last meal to eat.

Perhaps not too surprising, most Americans chose the same things and Massachusetts residents were among that majority.

Since the 1970s over 1500 people have been put to death in America and every one of them got to choose a last meal.

Serial killer John Wayne Gacy requested 12 fried shrimp, a bucket of original recipe KFC, french fries, and a pound of strawberries for his last meal while Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh simply asked for two pints of mint chocolate chip ice cream.

Now insurance provider Choice Mutual has asked residents of every state what they would request and Massachusetts had a clear favorite.

If you thought people in Massachusetts would go for a seafood option when picking their last meal, you would actually be wrong.

Though lobster landed as the #7 last meal option across the country, closer to home residents simply want a good steak.

Yes, steak and wine won out in Massachusetts as top pick for a last meal. With most residents adding that they'd eat twice their normal amount during a last meal as well.

If steak isn't your go-to however, maybe go for one of the SouthCoast's 'must try' dishes.
