The Road From New Bedford to Miss America

The list of notable young women to hold this title is long. The competition is always appropriately fierce, as the pool of talent is deep here on the SouthCoast. The Miss New Bedford Pageant is a local preliminary to the Miss America Pageant. Each Miss New Bedford gets the chance to compete in the Miss Massachusetts pageant.

There have been a number of Miss New Bedfords that went on to win Miss Massachusetts and had the thrill of competing in the Miss America Pageant.

Who Is Competing for Miss New Bedford?

This year, there will be seven young women competing for the title of Miss New Bedford. Two of the contestants attend UMass Dartmouth. There are also contestants that attend Curry College, Sacred Heart University, Boston University, Stonehill College, and Northeastern.
