Miley Cyrus Proves She “Can’t Stop” and “Won’t Stop” Even Through Life’s Most Difficult Moments
Miley Cyrus's Bangerz Tour made its stop in Boston last night at the TD Garden and although Boston got to experience her special brand of crazy they also got to witness a side of Cyrus that not many other cities will ever get to see.
Her set opened with a larger than life image of herself equipped with a slide in the shape of her infamous tongue to which she used to enter the arena and she seemed to be in the happiest of spirits. She was singing her heart and twerking her you-know-what off but a few songs into the show she stopped to share her raw emotions with the crowd.
Early yesterday morning Cyrus went to Twitter to let her fans know one of her dogs, Floyd, has passed away and apologized in advance to those attending her Garden show.
She told her fans, “Your responsibility is to get me through, I think, the hardest day of my entire life." There was not a dry eye in the Garden as fans weeped along with Cyrus, surprised that she was sharing this side of herself. She added later on that she did not want to disappoint Boston again. If you remember she skipped out on a concert in December because she was unable to make it due to a winter storm. Probably one of the most emotional portions of the show was her acoustic set.
She moved from the big stage to a small, intimate stage set at the back of the arena. She sang "Rooting For My Baby" as well as covers of Lana Del Ray's "Summertime Sadness", Coldplay's "The Scientist", and her godmother Dolly Parton's "Jolene". Cameras captured an emotional Cyrus as she powered through proving she's got some serious pipes.
Miley returned to center stage for the final set. Saving the best for last, she performed her biggest hits, "We Can't Stop", "Wrecking Ball", and "Party In The U.S.A", turning the Garden into a scene straight from the "We Can't Stop" video. In typical Miley fashion she had an exessive amount of confetti, dancing foam fingers, and an Obama look-a-like on stilts.
Our intern, Kara, was lucky enough to be in attendance last night and said, "It was nice to see a celebrity as big as Miley has feelings too." "She did a great job maintaining a high energy performance," said Kara.
Just like the reports from previous cities, Bangerz is NOT a show for children.
