Miley Cyrus is taking her new, not-quite-effortless urban reincarnation to a new level ... by saying she, herself, is a reincarnation of Lil Kim.

In an interview about her favorite female artists, Cyrus, who has lately taken a hip-hop turn after claiming she'd never heard a Jay-Z song in her life, adopted the petite, plastic surgery-obsessed spitfire as her spirit animal.

"In my past life, I feel like that was me. I feel like Lil Kim is who I am on the inside."

Cyrus also listed her godmother, the immortal Dolly Parton, Joan Jett, singer-songwriter Beth Hart, and, interestingly, Nicki Minaj -- a long known nemesis of Lil Kim -- as her other favorites. She must be facing some pretty dramatic internal conflicts right now.
