
Man and Woman Killed in Fatal I-495 Crash in Middleboro
UPDATE: According to the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office, the decedents in this incident have been identified as Cecil Johnson, 70, of Wareham and Rosemarie Dias, 68, of Wareham.
MIDDLEBORO (WBSM) — Two people were killed in a fatal crash this afternoon on Interstate 495 in Middleboro.
According to Middleboro Fire Chief Owen Thompson, the department responded at about 12:28 p.m. today to a report of a single-vehicle crash with serious injuries on I-495 North, near the Cherry Street overpass.
Crews arrived to find a vehicle on fire in the woods on the side of the road. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the flames as all northbound lanes of the highway were shut down.
An adult male found outside of the vehicle was pronounced dead on arrival, Thompson said. An adult female, who was still inside the vehicle, was also pronounced dead at the scene.

There were no other injuries, Thompson said.
The crash is under investigation by Massachusetts State Police.
