The Center for Alternative Life Medicine (or CARE) originally wanted to put a medical marijuana dispensary facility in the South End of New Bedford, but says the city was moving too slowly. CARE now wants to put their facility in either Rochester or Freetown. The proposed zoning for the medical marijuana facility was approved by the Rochester board last night. Rochester residents will vote on the idea on November 25th at Town Meeting. It would allow medical marijuana facilities in the town's industrial zone, but would restrict them around churches and schools.
