If you love to laugh, Providence is the place to be the weekend of March 27 through March 30. The Lil Rhody Laugh Riot is vying to become an annual comedy event in Providence, and judging by the lineup they’ve assembled for this extended weekend, they’re well on their way.

The festival kicks off with one of the biggest names in comedy right now: Kevin Hart. He’ll take the stage at PPAC on Thursday night, March 27, to start the weekend early.

Wrapping up the event is Matt Rife, who has recently relocated to an 80 acre North Smithfield, Rhode Island estate, and seems to be fully embracing the Lil Rhody lifestyle.

Rife has been spotted mingling with locals, including celebrating New Year’s Eve in style. Fun 107’s own Maddie Levine caught up with him at the party.

Rife has also been seen dining in Providence’s Federal Hill district and even crossing the Braga Bridge into Fall River for an impromptu stand-up gig. His surprise appearance at the Belmont Club in Fall River stunned the 25-30 people in attendance Sunday night.

Now, Rife can add performing at the Lil Rhody Laugh Riot to his growing list of ways he’s becoming a true local. Also joining the lineup is Jonathan Van Ness, who will perform on Saturday night, March 29, at The VETS.
