Matt Damon & Casey Affleck Spotted On Set in Massachusetts for New Movie

The next Boston-based crime action drama is coming to fruition.

Now that the SAG-AFTRA strike is officially over, Hollywood is back in Massachusetts filming a new project, and two of the state’s biggest stars were spotted on set.

Cambridge natives Matt Damon and Casey Affleck were seen in Quincy on Tuesday, filming scenes for the upcoming movie The Instigators.

WCVB confirmed that production of the new film was underway earlier this year in the North End, as well as Boston’s Back Bay, The Charles River Esplanade, and Memorial Drive, and it appears production has picked back up as the two stars were shooting near the Squantum Yacht Club at Wollaston Beach in Quincy.

The Instigators follows two robbers who must go on the run with the help of one of their therapists after a theft doesn’t go as planned.

Videos have begun to surface of car chases, police cars, and shoot-outs as production takes over the busy streets of Boston.

Damon and Affleck are set to star alongside Hong Chau and Michael Stuhlbarg. Affleck will assist in writing, while Damon and Ben Affleck are tapped as producers.

Grammy-nominated Jack Harlow will also make an appearance in the new flick. Looks like the acting bug bit him after his starring role in the 2022 White Men Can't Jump remake. Only time will tell what his big screen role will be.

Expect The Instigators, an Apple movie original, to debut in 2024.
