The good ole Bay State has landed in the top ten of 'Best States' according to one magazine's findings. Do you agree?

There are 50 states in the country and according to U.S. News & World Reports, Massachusetts is the eighth best.

Yep, we are in the top ten overall after the magazine ranked everyone based on eight different criteria.

Looking at Education, Health Care, Economy, Infrastructure, Opportunity, Fiscal Stability, Crime & Corrections and Natural Environment, Massachusetts came out near the top.

In fact we were tops in the education category and 2nd for health care.

Bringing us down however was a 44th place finish in Infrastructure and 30th spot in Fiscal Stability.

Still a top ten finish isn't too shabby.

Especially considering our neighboring state of Rhode Island only came in 26th. (The lowest spot of all the New England states.)

The only bright spot for RI was a first place finish in the Natural Environment category. They're 49th place in Infrastructure and 41st in Education were pretty rough though.

Best of all the states, in case you're planning a move, was Washington. Followed by New Hampshire and then Minnesota believe it or not.

The lowest ranking state on the other hand was Louisiana, who nearly came in last for every category.

So next time you want to complain about things in Massachusetts, think about living in Louisiana instead...it might help.
