MANSFIELD (WBSM) — Police in Mansfield are seeking the public’s help in gathering information about an incident this morning in which two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle while they were walking on the sidewalk.

According to Mansfield Police Chief Ronald Sellon, the police and fire departments responded at 9:47 a.m. today to a report of a crash involving a man and a woman in the area of 108 Oakland Street.

Sellon said the investigation revealed that the driver of a white 2012 Honda Accord drove up onto the sidewalk and struck the two.

Victims’ Conditions After the Incident

The Mansfield Fire Department assessed the two pedestrians at the scene. It was determined that the man had suffered a head injury, and he was transported by MedFlight to Rhode Island Hospital.

The woman was taken by ambulance to Boston Medical Center-South in Brockton.

The driver of the vehicle was evaluated by EMS but did not require further medical attention, Sellon said.
