Nailed It! Manicure Magic at New Bedford Salon

I'll be honest, I'm not one to splurge on myself. Fancy clothes, new shoes, designer bags – it was never my thing.

However, I've found over time that a few small things bring me joy at the end of a week. That new fancy coffee you've been wanting to try? Go for it. A top that you've been eyeing for weeks? Sure!

This time, it was my nails.

I've had manicures before, but it's been years (20 to be exact) since I got "fake" nails. You know, some sort of acrylics that immediately give your nails length.

With a few work events around the corner, I wanted to dive back into that world again.

Per a friend's recommendation, I made an appointment at NB Salon in New Bedford. It was there that they fit me for Aprés nails.

What Are Aprés Nails?

Sometimes refereed to as Gel-X, these nails, unlike acrylics, are soft gel extensions that make for easier removal and less damage to the nail underneath.

The process is very easy as they're applied similarly to press-on nails and cured under an LED lamp similar to getting a gel manicure.

Narissa was my nail tech for the day and she made the process a breeze.

It was nice to go into the appointment not really knowing what I wanted or what to expect and have Narissa's expertise lead the way.

What Do They Look Like?

The nails come in a variety of lengths and can be filed into different shapes depending on your preference.

Though I went with a classic look, NB Nails can really wow with their nail art as seen on its Instagram page.

The best part? The Aprés nails last a good three weeks, sometimes four depending on your lifestyle and nail growth.
