Man Sleeping at Brooklawn Park Arrested for Cocaine Possession

NEW BEDFORD — A man found sleeping in a local park is found in possession of drugs.

New Bedford Police responded to a report Monday morning at around 7:42 a.m. of a man sleeping near the duck pond at Brooklawn Park in the city's North End.

Officers arrived and found the man, Robert Savage, 27, of 218 Whitman Street, Apt. 1E, New Bedford, was in possession of nearly 30 grams of cocaine.

Police arrested Savage on a charge of possession of cocaine and an outstanding warrant.
