Man Found Dead in Stop & Shop Parking Lot in New Bedford

NEW BEDFORD — New Bedford Police and the Bristol County District Attorney's Office are investigating after a man was found deceased in a grocery store parking lot on Thursday.

The Bristol County District Attorney's Office says the man was found dead in his car in the parking lot of the Stop & Shop on King's Highway in New Bedford's North End. The discovery was made shortly before 6 p.m. on Thursday.

A Massachusetts State Police trooper assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney's Office responded to the scene, along with local emergency personnel.

A spokesperson for the Bristol County District Attorney's Office says the death is not considered suspicious and was "possibly medical."
