Mass State Trooper Mourns Loss of His K-9 Partner on Thanksgiving
This open letter hits right in the feels.
Sadly, this past Thanksgiving was a difficult day for Lieutenant Raymond Jones of the Massachusetts State Police. His K-9 partner since 2006, Dakar, had passed away. Jones woke up early Thanksgiving morning to discover Dakar had passed in the night. According to Jones, she was the first female Belgium Malinois in the K-9 unit, and together they shared many memories.
It goes to show that no matter if your partner is human or animal, the love and connection shared is a bond stronger than no other. I personally want to send my deepest condolences and gratitude for the hard work and dedication to the Massachusetts State Trooper force. Believe me when I say, Lt. Jones, that your partner's life and accomplishments in the academy will never go unnoticed. Rest easy, Dakar, you are now relieved of your duties. Thank you for all that you've done.
