Every year we ask you to Light Up SouthCoast by decorating your home for the holiday and showing it off.

This year you didn't disappoint.

For many, this holiday season hasn't felt quite right. Maybe you've felt like something is missing. It's easy to feel that way this time of year. Earlier this week, I was quickly reminded of what this holiday should look and feel like when I saw the twinkle in a 4-year-old's eyes during a Santa photo opportunity at a local restaurant.

Many of us are caught up with everything going on in the world and in our lives that we forget to slow down and really sit back and appreciate the little things. Many of us are on the brink of losing it because of the stress of our world and just simply forget to really step back and take a few deep breaths.

We need to remind ourselves to be grateful for the things we take for granted.

It's amazing how the lights and decorations of the season can make us stop for a minute and just take it all in.

It's something to see our neighbors across the SouthCoast take so much pride and joy in decorating their homes for all to enjoy.

Many of them sent pictures to share with you and get you in the holiday spirit. Take a look below.
