Hey Rhode Island, You’re Now Within Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon
Thanks to a lemonade stand in North Kingstown, we're all now one degree closer to Kevin Bacon.
Rhode Islanders have been spotting the actor and his wife, Kyra Sedgwick, around the state lately as the pair has reportedly been shooting a movie called "Space Oddity" that's set to be released in 2022. According to IMDb, the movie follows "a man [who] seeks the help [of] an insurance company to plan a one-way trip to Mars."
During their time in Rhode Island, Bacon and Sedgwick have been sighted supporting local businesses, and most recently, they stopped by North Kingstown's Del's Lemonade. Or more like it, Del's Lemonade stopped by them.
Del's owner Kevin Knight said one of the managers on set for "Space Oddity" called him earlier this week and asked if they would be willing to bring the truck by to serve the movie's cast and crew. Knight and his team agreed, and while they knew Bacon would probably be there, they weren't sure if they would see him because they were there serving food truck-style, where folks could come grab something if they wanted.
But lo and behold, Kevin Bacon made an appearance. Knight said the Del's driver spotted Bacon in line and the gal at the serving window was excited to interact with him, even getting the chance to snap a pic with the "Footloose" star.
"She gained her composure and got to serving him," Knight said. "She was pretty excited."
As for Bacon's signature Del's order, it sounds like the actor prefers to keep it classic. Knight can't say for sure what drink Bacon ordered from the truck, but based on the cup, he's fairly certain he opted for a classic lemonade.
Just last month, Bacon and Sedgwick picked up lunch in nearby Exeter at Sophie's Brewhouse, where the couple paused and waved for a photo.
While we haven't heard any whisperings of Bacon and Sedgwick making their way over to the SouthCoast recently, there's certainly a lot of great places for them to stop and see if they do!
