The Kennedy-Donovan Center is holding its first-ever virtual walk to raise funds for programs that support children, individuals and families throughout Massachusetts communities.

The Kennedy-Donovan Center has been an important resource for many local families and has been an organization that has a dedicated staff supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and delays as well as their families.

While this organization gets some help from the state, many of its programs still need to raise funds to continue to provide services. Especially as we continue to battle this pandemic, the needs of these individuals have not gone away.

The KDC relies on fundraising events to bridge the gap in funds needs to continue to enhance the lives of individuals and families in Massachusetts.

The Center continues to develop safe ways to raise money. I remember taking part in the annual Rock-a-Thon for several years. This event was always such fun and just about everyone could take part, rocking in a rocking chair and getting sponsors for your time in the chair while making new friends in the chairs next to you.

Coming up, they have an event that we can all do remotely. A virtual walk-a-thon will be taking place on October 4.

You can register still as a walker or just donate on their website. They also have more info on their Facebook page.
