I don't know if they would keep me awake at night.  They might even help me fall asleep more easily, but at 4 in the morning as I walk across the parking lot here on Sconticut Neck Road, I hear 'em loud and clear.

The first time I actually thought a jet was flying over, but then realized that although you can't see the turbines at that hour, you can hear them.   It's a duel swoosh sound.   And now that the leaves are gone from the trees, combined with the lack of traffic at that hour, the sound is certainly detectable from a quarter of a mile away.

So if your ever have the chance to visit our parking lot, or the one in front of Stop & Shop very late at night, or very early in the morning, stop and listen.  I think you'll hear a sound unlike you've heard before.
