Indoor Skydiving Coming to Patriot Place
I have always wanted to try indoor skydiving, and I could not be more excited about the new facility coming to Patriot Place.
Actual skydiving scares the living daylights out of me, but I am 100 percent on board with hopping into an indoor tunnel of air and pretending I'm soaring through the skies.
I'm pretty sure the closest place to the SouthCoast for indoor skydiving is SkyVenture in New Hampshire right now. But by October 2020, it could be so much closer.
Freedom Wind Tunnel Indoor Skydiving is ready to break ground at Patriot Place and start work on a state-of-the-art facility that will be more than 100 feet tall.
The company's Facebook page says the tunnel will be 16 feet tall and will be used for military training as well as super fun indoor skydiving for regular folks.
And they'll have this amazing virtual reality experience to boot.
They say the VR technology will let pretend parachuters choose where they land and even experience dropping onto Gillette Stadium's 50-yard line with a game day football. Cool!
For someone like me who knows they are not brave enough to ever actual jump out of a plane, this all sounds awesome.
They are going to start building Freedom Wind Tunnel soon with an expected opening of October 2020.
I expect to be among the first in line to try it.
