The New Bedford Starchasers are calling all bikers to help with the Hunger Heroes Food Drop. So grab your spaceship (bike) and ride for a good cause.

The New Bedford bicycle gang is going to be launching their latest mission at our Hunger Heroes Food Drop at Buttonwood Park and you can join them.

This awesome group of bike enthusiasts seem to love supporting the community as much as they love riding their tricked out bicycles. And this weekend they are going to be bringing those two things together for what they're calling Cranksgiving New Bedford.

According to their Facebook page the plan is to get a group of bike riders together on Saturday November 16, at the Buttonwood Park Warming House to launch at noon on a special mission.

Interested riders should have their spaceships (bikes) ready to ride by 11:45 a.m. and about $15-$20 with them for a food "scavenger hunt."

The United Way will be providing riders with the list of needed food items for the Hunger Heroes Food Drop, then the Starchasers will blast off from the warming house, fly through three supermarkets grabbing the food items on their list then land back at the warming house to donate that food.

Everyone on the mission gets their own BINGO style sheet to complete and the first one back with their BINGO gets a silly prize.

There's also swag to hand out and of course every riders gets their official holographic sticker and mission badge for completing the mission.

It might just be the most fun way to participate in our Hunger Heroes Food Drop next Saturday at Buttonwood Park.

If you've got a bike, get it ready to ride. And if you don't have a bike, bring a food item to donate anyway and check out the sweet rides from the Starchasers and they help feed local families with Cranksgiving New Bedford.
